Pennsylvania’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System program, or MS4, sets out a series of control measures that municipal governments are required to follow. Its goals are to protect the Commonwealth’s water resources against contamination resulting from uncontrolled stormwater runoff. At its March 2 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors heard presentations from Township Waterworks Coordinator Tim Schutzman on the community’s progress under its current state MS4 permit cycle, followed by a group presentation from Haine Middle School students on steps that residents can take to protect the local watershed.
