Block parties are not only fun, their community-building qualities are widely recognized for increasing civic engagement, improving public safety and expanding community involvement. Starting this summer, Cranberry will give block parties taking place in its own neighborhoods a helping hand, Communications Manager Tina Fedko told a meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors on April 27. That assistance will include a trailer full of block party essentials including tables, chairs, and games which can be reserved and used by HOAs and block party organizers free of charge. A part-time Community Outreach Coordinator has been brought onto the Township staff to assist in party planning, and Township communications media will be available to help promote them.
