The area between the old Auction Barn and Executive Drive along Brandt Drive, which is currently undeveloped, is poised to become one of Cranberry’s newest neighborhoods. At its June 1 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors agreed approve the developer’s PRD plan. The project, involving six buildings which provide ground-level parking with four stories of apartment units above, includes a courtyard clubhouse community center, an outdoor pool, a trail system, sidewalks, and the Township’s first protected bike lane. It is considered a transformational project – the first time that housing with urban-style density will be placed in the heart of Cranberry’s heavily commercial SuperBlock. The plan also includes finishing Brandt Drive through to Thomson Park/Executive Drive, where a mini-roundabout will be installed. A parcel acquired from adjacent LaSalle Plaza is to be developed as part of the project.
