Cranberry police will be partnering with PennDOT and state troopers enforcing the state’s DUI laws and removing intoxicated drivers from the roadways. Extra roving patrols will be looking for signs of impaired driving on Township roads throughout the holiday weekend. “Thanksgiving Eve,” the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, has become one of the year’s biggest drinking days, contributing to a significant rise in drunk driving deaths around the holiday. Anyone apprehended for driving impaired could face jail time, fines, loss of driver’s license, towing fees, and other DUI expenses, averaging $10,000.
