The results are in. The Township’s recent sale of surplus items on Municibid – an eBay-type online auction service used by municipalities but open to private buyers and individuals – was a win-win for both sides of the transaction. A 2002 Ford Explorer in fair condition with 82,000 miles sold for $2,000. An Impala sedan with 96,000 miles sold for $1,950. And an HP Designjet 44-inch plotter printer went for just $460. Those sales and others, which became final on November 29, were reported to Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at its December 7 meeting. Cranberry and many other local governments periodically authorize the sale of their excess items on Municibid for purchased by anyone in the U.S. or Canada.
