Doyle Equipment Company, whose front lawn of its 16.5 acre site at the intersection of Dutilh and Rt. 19 was frequently used to showcase heavy construction equipment, is gone. Its buildings have been razed and their rubble moved offsite. In their place the owner, David Smail, has approached the Township seeking conditional use and preliminary land development approval for a neighborhood shopping center. Although no lease agreements are currently in place for the store spaces, if the plan is approved as presented, it would include 81,600 square feet of retail space, plus an 8,050 square foot restaurant and a 2,800 square foot bank with a drive-thru window. It would also connect via American Way with the adjacent Home Depot site – which Smail also owns – as well as with The Streets of Cranberry. At is April 26 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors agreed to consider action on the developer’s application at its May 3 meeting.
