Fresenius Kabi, best known in Western Pennsylvania for its dialysis clinics, is expanding in Cranberry. The company, which is actually a German-based healthcare business that traces its origins back more than 550 years, specializes in medicines and technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition that are used to care for critically and chronically ill patients. At its June 7 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved the company’s conditional use application to expand its current Commonwealth Drive facility by 6,600 square feet to accommodate additional light manufacturing of medical devices.
