Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa, the reigning Miss Universe, will be coming to Cranberry’s Municipal Center at 6:00 PM this Friday, August 24, to give a presentation about her campaign to empower women facing life-threatening situations. After surviving a violent carjacking last year, Ms. Nel-Peters determined that she would use her celebrity as Miss Universe to create a campaign training women to be physically, mentally and emotionally prepared to deal with extreme situations including sexual harassment, assault and abusive relationships. She will be joined by fellow titleholders Olivia Suchko, Miss Pennsylvania USA, and Kailey Grill, currently Miss Pennsylvania Teen USA. All will be available for photographs and autographs. Admission to the event is free and open to everyone.
