It’s hard to be competitive in the cutthroat grocery business these days without the ability to sell beer and wine. So, to keep up with the competition, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, which has stores in 11 mostly mid-western states, has leased the space that formerly housed HH Gregg at Cranberry Commons Mall. At its September 6 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved an inter-municipal liquor license transfer to Fresh Thyme from elsewhere in the County. State law only permits inter-county transfer of licenses. The store plans a 32-seat café inside where alcohol will be sold.
