The unfortunate passing of the Township’s Emergency Management Agency coordinator led Township supervisors to consider a replacement.
Mark Nanna, a Township employee and longtime member of the fire company, passed away in January. He also served as the Township’s EMA coordinator.
The Board voted Thursday to recommend to Governor Tom Wolf that Scott Garing be appointed to the position. Garing was recently hired as Chief of the Township’s Fire and Emergency Services.
Responsibilities of the EMA Coordinator include ensuring all components of the comprehensive EMA program are up to date and able to be quickly activated.
If appointed by Gov. Wolf, Garing would appoint deputy coordinators to assist during times the EMA plan is activated.
