The Municipal Center has been the de facto “town center” for nearly three decades, offering everything from the library to fitness courses in addition to the epicenter of daily Township business.
Now, it will be the center of attention for upgrades.
The 2021 budget contains funding for capital projects at the Municipal Center, including reconstruction of the rear parking lot to correct drainage issues and increase the number of available spots. The side parking lot will also be reconfigured.
At the front of the building, planning is underway to enhance the front lawn to better utilize public space and create an area for gathering and events. This will coincide with upgrades along Rochester Road, which includes pedestrian connections and enhanced access.
The Board of Supervisors approved a contract for the work with Herbert, Rowland & Grubic Inc. at the December 10 meeting.
