The Cranberry Township Police Department is dedicated to decreasing DUIs.
Through a commitment to training and keeping a Drug Recognition Expert on staff, the department can better determine if a driver is under the influence, as well as what substance is causing that impairment.
But its bigger than just Cranberry. Through collaboration with the Pennsylvania DUI Association, the department recently hosted a Drug Recognition Expert training event that produced 17 new DREs. It coincided with a stop by the DUI Association’s Moving Memorial, a traveling tribute to those lost to DUI incidents.
The department was recently honored for their commitment to stopping DUIs as Dave Andrascik and Cathy Tress of the PA DUI Association presented the Department with a plaque recognizing its support and achievements. A video of that presentation was shown to the Board of Supervisors at their October 28 meeting.
