Though it won’t have the jutting mountains and ski slopes of its namesake, a proposed townhouse development could bring a lift to Cranberry’s housing market.
The Breckenridge development will bring 112 townhouse units to an 18-acre space along Freedom Road. The space currently consists of five separate lots which would be consolidated. Existing homes would be razed.
The development exceeds the Township’s open space requirements and is significantly under the density and impervious surface requirements. Standard streetscape enhancements, including sidewalks, street trees, and pedestrian pockets, are expected to add neighborhood value.
The development offers a significant pedestrian system of both sidewalks and trails for residents and visitors alike.
Planned expansion of Freedom Road, as well as a stormwater study in the area, will ensure the project’s impact on surrounding areas is minimal.
The Board of Supervisors granted approval for the project during the March 3 meeting. Approval followed a public hearing.
