Water Advisory UPDATE - 8:50 AM June 2, 2022
Water levels continue to be evaluated and monitored. The advisory remains in effect to minimize use of water. Water is safe to drink and use.
Water Advisory UPDATE - 10:41 a.m.
Due to an abrupt increase in water production at West View Water Authority, sediment was stirred up in the piping distribution system causing discolored water.
The water is safe to drink.
The increase was necessary to store water in preparation for a potential shutdown resulting from a train derailment in Harmar, upstream of both water treatment facilities.
If you experience discolored water or stained laundry:
• Do not continue to use the water for laundry.
• Keep the laundry items damp until the water clears.
• Do not use chlorine bleach.
• Soak the items for a few hours and re-launder with your regular detergent and non-chlorine bleach.
Water Advisory ALERT
Water customers may notice cloudy water and low pressure. This advisory is being issued because of a system issue with the West View Water Authority Baden water treatment plant.
West View Water supplies all water to Cranberry Township.
West View Water and Cranberry Township are working to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible. Again, customers may notice decreased water pressure and/or discolored water during this time. If discoloration appears, let a lower-level cold water tap run for one to two minutes until water is clear. Although these changes may be observed, water continues to meet quality standards and is safe to use.
Updates will continue to be posted on the Township’s website at www.cranberrytownship.org on the front page. If customers have any questions, please contact 724-776-4806.
