Freedom Road will close for work the weekend of September 23.
As part of a PennDOT project, Freedom Road between Haine School Road and Commonwealth Drive will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, September 23 to 6 a.m. Monday, September 25.
During the closure, contractor Gulisek Construction LLC of Mt. Pleasant, Pa. will maintain eastbound traffic with signage and flagging as needed.
For the westbound detour, traffic will use Freedom Road East to Route 19 to Rochester Road to Powell Road back to Freedom Road.
This project is an extension of Freedom Road project which includes new highway and turning lanes, widening, paving, drainage, signal upgrade/replacement, lighting work, highway realignment, safety improvements and sidewalks.
The $9.8 million project is estimated to be completed this fall.
