Community partnerships are the backbone of Cranberry Township.
A commitment to service from Girl Scout Troop #20546 took center stage during the April 27 Board of Supervisors meeting, with the Board acknowledging the Troop’s Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) Youth Award victory.
The Troop earned the award for restoring the entrance sign to the park trails in Community Park. The Troop worked to refurbish the sign and to build and install a freshly designed map of the trails as part of a Bronze Award quest.
The new sign places an emphasis on “Leave No Trace,” which challenges users to leave the park, trails, and surrounding areas as they found them. The Troop oversaw the project from proposal to installation, working with the Township’s Public Works, IT, and Communications Departments.
Members of the Troop also opened the Board meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance.
