[ARCHIVED] Neighborhood Slow-Down test is underway

Ten Cranberry neighborhoods will be included in a week-long trial program to encourage drivers in the Township's residential plans to adhere to the posted 25-miles per hour speed limit. Complaints from members of neighborhood homeowners associations about drivers exceeding the speed limit have been frequent, and Township help was requested.

During the week of July 24, different methods will be used to encourage drivers to slow down. The campaign's communication materials, prepared by the Nebraska-based nonprofit "Keep Kids Alive, Drive 25," will be posted and distributed in the selected plans along with mobile speed-reading trailers, traffic counter tubes, and increased police presence. Voluntary participation by local residents in support of the program is key to the success of the effort.
