Health professionals urge you to drink plenty of fluids (although alcohol and high-sugar drinks actually cause you to lose body fluids); wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing; use sunscreen and sunglasses outdoors; pace yourself to avoid exhaustion; check in with elderly neighbors; keep your pet’s water dish full; and never leave children or pets inside a closed car.
Stay in air-conditioned buildings as much as you can. Cranberry’s air conditioned Public Library opens every day but Sunday at 10:00 AM. It remains open until 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday, until 5:00 on Fridays, and until 4:00 on Saturdays. Take the opportunity to visit Cranberry’s Community Waterpark and cool down in the pool, which is open from 11:30 AM to 8:00 daily
