Meet Your Instructors

James LaRosa James LaRosa,  CTPA Rating: 4.5 James is a CTPA member and also volunteers to teach CTPA PB-3 multiple times during the year.  He is a certified Pickleball Instructor and 4.5 Rated Tournament Player and Gold Medal Winner. He is a CTPA Pickleball Academy Instructor and gives private lessons. His experiences have taken him from a Young USTA Tennis Player and Instructor, to teaching Pickleball in Allegheny, Butler, Beaver counties (Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena and Lauri Ann West Community Center) over the last few seasons. His goal is to establish good fundamental skills to allow the person to become a better player and enjoy the game.  For advanced players, James can refine your game to a higher level. Private lessons with James LaRosa are held at the Graham Park Pickleball Courts or in the Municipal Center Gym, based on availability.

Kevin GirardKevin Girard is a certified level II pickleball teaching professional by the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA).  He has a 4.5 rating and has won gold medals in multiple tournaments. He received his certification from Simone Jardim who is the #1 rated women's pickleball player in the world. Along with pickleball, Kevin teaches tennis professionally at the Oxford Athletic Club. Pickleball Academy

BarryBarry Watkiss  is a GOLD medal winner in many sanctioned regional tournament  against some of the best 4.5 teams in the USA. He is an active CTPA volunteer and leader and has helped improve the skills of many players in our association.
